What is digital print and why should you be using it?

Digital print is a method of printing that requires no printing plates.

There is little set-up time on the machine, no wash-ups, no mess. Therefore, if you require jobs producing very quickly, digital is the way ahead.

What digital is not good at is long runs of the same image. Due to the relatively high ‘click charge’ digital becomes uncompetitive on runs over 1000 A4s. However, if you think about it, do you need print runs of this length? If you buy 1000 brochures today, will you send them all out today? If not, will the content still be relevant tomorrow or next week or next month?

What digital does is to give you the opportunity to keep your company’s literature up-to-date and relevant. As there is little set-up time, there are no large set-up charges and no expensive plates. You can order shorter print runs changing any data/products as necessary. Your literature is always up-to-date and relevant and you negate the need for large stocks of potentially incorrect literature. In fact no large stocks of literature at all - all of your company’s marketing collateral can be stored electronically on computer, amended as necessary and produced when required.
